The 4.5 yard warping board is Schacht’s compact measuring frame for shorter warps and tighter spaces. The frame is 18 In across, with pegs laid out to measure warps up to 4.5 yards long. Light enough to set on a table or carry to a workshop, and small enough to live on a shelf or in a closet between projects.
Hardwood dowels are tenoned and pressed into solid maple uprights so they hold up under typical warp tension. The board ships disassembled and goes together with simple hand-tightened hardware, then comes back apart for flat storage. Schacht ships the maple unfinished. You can leave it bare for everyday use, or apply your own oil finish using the instructions in the box.
Schacht has been building spinning and weaving tools in Boulder, Colorado since 1969. The hardwood comes from sustainably-raised forests in northern Michigan and Canada. Same construction as the larger 14 yard board, sized for projects that don’t need the full frame.
