Dropcloth Samplers, all based on original drawings by artist Rebecca Rinquist, are ready to hoop and stitch. Each includes simple instructions, founded on the notion that embroidery neednot be so uptight, but may be improvised for relaxation and to beautiful effect.

This pie-shaped sampler filled with lots of tiny stitches is waiting for experimentation. Each of the nine sections offers variations on the theme, giving the maker a chance to try out thick and thin versions of each stitch, as well asdifferentcolors and threads. The end result measures 10 x 10.
