  The Montrose Sweater is knit in the round from the top down in Metalico; a beautiful blend of baby alpaca and silk – one of our favourite yarns ever!

  This elegant sweater has so many styling options, and is a joy to knit!

  The pattern is written for sizes XXS through 4X, with a chest circumference of up to 52 . With8 new Metalico colours, you will find the perfect colour to knit this luxurious and silky fall sweater.

  If we had to pick our one most favourite yarn in the Universe, this one would be a Top Contender. Seriously!

  Metalico is a proper luxury yarn. Presented in gorgeous braids, every hank has a natural shimmer and flecking from mulberry silk which whencombined withnatural, un-dyed shades of baby alpaca, produces the softest, most lustrous yarn we can imagine.

  An absolute treat to knit with, and to wear. And life is just too short not to experience this one at least once!

  OUR STORY by Blue Sky Fibers

  Creating consciously crafted fibers and patterns is more than just our focus, its our passion. Ever since we started with a small herd of alpacas in our backyard, weve been committed to making yarn in the best way possible to show off its natural beauty.

  And while our exclusive offerings have grown beyond alpaca to include wool, organic cotton and silk, our desire for getting makers of all stripes excited about natural fibers and knitting hasnt changed one bit. It all winds back to the yarn, ensuring that every precious, handmade hank is lovingly filled with endless inspiration.

  Blue Sky Fibers started as a pet project, of sorts. Shortly after graduating college, owner/founder Linda Niemeyer’s curious preoccupation with Alpacas led to her buying one. Soon Linda found herself with a lot of yarn on hand. She took it to a nearby yarn store, which was willing to buy and sell it. And the rest, as they say, is history.

  Today Blue Sky Fibers is known worldwide for its consciously crafted collection of high-quality natural fibers and patterns. One can only imagine how things might have turned out differently had Linda been obsessed with giraffes instead.
