The official 2023 Shetland Wool Week knitting pattern, the Buggiflooer Beanie, has been exclusively designed bythe Shetland Wool Weekpatron for 2023, Alison Rendall.Alison is a Shetland born Fair Isle knitter who learned Fair Isle knitting as a young child.Nowa Shetland-based nurse andprolificknitter and designer, Alison isinfluencedby the designs and colors of her Nan’s knitting and she see inspiration in the nature around her.

“Buggiflooer” is the Shetland name for Sea Campion which grows in abundance near her home by the sea.
