The Extra Fast whorl is the highest-ratio whorl in the Kromski magnetic flyer lineup. Reach for it when you spin laceweight, fine cotton singles, very fine three-ply, or any yarn that wants more twist per inch than the standard whorls can pack in. Standard on neither the Fantasia nor the Sonata Encore, this is the upgrade whorl for fine spinners.
Two ratio grooves on one whorl. Both ratios are firmly in laceweight territory. The faster groove is the right pick for cotton singles, where high twist counts compensate for short staple length. Spinners working on long laceweight projects appreciate not having to over-treadle to get the twist count they want.
This is a magnetic-flyer whorl. It will fit any Kromski wheel with a magnetic flyer head:
If you have an original (pre-Encore) Sonata with the traditional non-magnetic mother of all, this whorl will not fit until you add the magnetic flyer upgrade.
Drive wheel diameter changes the effective ratio, so the same whorl produces slightly different ratios on each wheel.
