This pattern works well withmalabrigo metamorphosis sock yarn, but other gradient yarns can be substituted. The lace is pretty enough to work with solid yarn as well.
Allow approx. 400m/440yds (you will use percentages and/or colour run to decide when to start the lace) – in theory you could use any weight, but it probably works best with fingering, sport or DK weight.
The lace section has a few p2tog tbl on every 4th row (WS), but other than that this is surprisingly easy-to-make lace for something so dramatic.
The lace will look best if it is wet blocked to open it out fully.
It is recommended that you use scales to weigh your yarn – if you dont already have scales, they really are a great investment for a knitter (give you much better control over your yarn usage; if you get some, youll probably wonder after how you ever knitted without them.)
The pattern has written directions, and a chart to illustrate the motifs for those that like charts.
